De Drievoet is a three-legged stool cut from one 48 mm board of Belgian river-valley oak, air-dried for three years under our roof. Karel and Bram Volders have made this one object at Korenlei 14 since 1987. Under every seat: the month’s batch, the forest the tree grew in, and three marks aligned with its wedges.
October’s twenty-four.
The kiln fires once a month and the bench cuts one batch. When the twenty-fourth place is taken, the ledger closes and the next firing begins. Fourteen places are spoken for. These ten are not.
Lot 15 is open.

Foxtail tenons, wedged
No screws, no metal
One stool.
Three heights.
Each height was worked out around a real place to sit: a hearth, a table, a bench. The seat is dished by hand; the three legs are turned to an 11° splay and through-wedged with foxtail tenons. Choose the height your room asks for, then the surface.

Look underneath.
We do not sign the top. A stool is a working object: the seat will be sat on, spilled on, sanded back. The underside keeps the record. A hot iron carries the month and the lot, the forest the tree grew in, and three marks that line up with the wedges.
- 01Batch & lot
OCT-2026, place 15 of 24. The month the plank was cut, not the month it was sold.
- 02Forest origin
Sonian or Ardennes. The stack the board came from, readable in the burn.
- 03Wedge orientation
Three marks, 120° apart, aligned with the riven wedges that lock the tenons.

Six weeks, one bench.
A stool is not taken from a shelf. It is made in the same six steps every month by two people at the same bench. The batch closes on 30 October; the next six weeks are already spoken for.

Week 1 · 2–6 November
A single 48 mm board is chosen from the stack. The meter reads 8.6% at the centre and 8.9% at the edge. If it reads nine, the board goes back on the stack.
